Heading into Rampage, we're always excited to collaborate with our riders, creating custom finished frames that reflect their vision and get them stoked to ride. After all, if they’re going to launch themselves off cliffs, the least we can do is make sure they’ve got a special bike beneath them. Thomas Genon, a rookie to GT but a veteran of the sport, gave us full creative control - trusting us to surprise him with something special.
We chose to pull some heart strings, because like many riders out there, Tommy has a GT story from his childhood.
Anyone fortunate enough to receive a bike for a holiday or birthday knows it's unforgettable. After outgrowing his GT Zaskar at 10, 11-year-old Tommy G unwrapped a GT Brian Lopes 4X/Dirt Jump for Christmas and spent the next few years frothing around on it as his passion for MTB took off. Fast forward to early 2024, we signed Tommy onto GT. Insanely talented on a bike, Tommy can ride just about anything and make it look damn good.
Coming to GT, he was excited to continue proving himself in the Freeride world - competing in both Redbull Hardline and Rampage this year. For Tommy's Rampage bike, we figured it was only fit to pay homage to his childhood ride. We decided to design a modern adaptation of his Brian Lopes 4X bike to be replicated on his Fury Carbon.
